The Murray CMA is a statutory agency of the NSW government, formed by the CMA Act 2003, to facilitate and coordinate the management of natural resources in the NSW Murray region. The Murray CMA is governed by a Board consisting of a Chair and six members. Board members are residents of the catchment and have an active involvement in community activities and an understanding of key economic, social and environmental issues facing the catchment. The Murray CMA works with the local community, farmers, landcare and producer groups, Aboriginal communities, local government, schools, industry, state and federal agencies to address the key natural resource management issues across the catchment. |

The Murray CMA receives funding from the NSW and Australian governments to invest in regional projects and programs for strategic on-ground works to help protect and restore natural resources across the catchment. CMA's also play a key role in managing native vegetation through the Native Vegetation Act 2003. |

The Murray CMA is a partner to the Australian Government Caring for our Country program and the NSW Government Catchment Action program.
